You and your GP will receive fast and accurate results within 48 hours and recommendations for further treatment, if necessary.

What type of MRI scan will I have?
At Prime Health we want to give you peace of mind and control over your prostate health.
We offer two types of MRI Prostate Health Check scans:
For those over the age of 50 years, with a PSA score in the normal range
Cost… £595
A safe, swift and accurate health check of your prostate, with no need for a GP referral. This is the service for you if you want peace of mind and control over your prostate health.
For those with a PSA level of less than 2.5 ng, this short MRI scan can detect any abnormalities or issues that need further investigation. It can also give you a clean bill of prostate health.
For those with a raised PSA score or a GP/consultant referral letter
Cost… £985
An in-depth diagnostic scan of your prostate, whether you have a GP referral or not. This is the service for you if you are experiencing symptoms with your prostate.
Maybe you have a GP or consultant referral letter but are faced with a waiting list, or you have a PSA score higher than 2.5 ng/ml and want a faster diagnosis. This service is for men who have prostate symptoms.
At the time of booking your MRI Prostate Health Check, our Care-Co-ordinators will advise the MRI scan recommended on your individual needs.
About our MRI Prostate Health Checks
Our MRI Prostate Health Checks are available to those over the age of 50. They are self-pay and not covered under Private Medical Insurance.
If you would like to book a check, you will need:
- A referral letter from your GP for an MRI scan of the prostate
OR
- Results from a Prostate-Specific Antigen Test confirming that your PSA is in the normal range (Less than 2.5ng/ml) or raised (3ng/ml or higher)
Complete our booking form including uploading your PSA Results or GP Referral, and your enquiry will be reviewed by our dedicated Care Co-ordinators. They will contact you within 48 hours to confirm your eligibility and book the right scan for you at your preferred diagnostic imaging centre in either London, Manchester, Brighton or Surrey. You will be offered appointments at a date and time convenient to you.
Please note to enhance the quality of the MRI scan images, patients may be required to have a muscle relaxant and/or contrast dye administered via a cannula in their hand/arm prior to scanning. Our Care-Coordinators will advise requirements upon booking.
What happens next
After we have received your request and confirmed you are eligible for a scan, we will contact you to arrange an appointment for you at your convenience. Appointments are typically offered within three working days.
Our Care Coordinators will discuss with you the type of MRI scan we recommend, this will include safe scanning questions and details about the date, time and location of your appointment.
Once we have confirmed your appointment, we will take payment for your MRI Prostate Health Check at the time of booking.
Your scans will be reported by a leading Uro-Radiologist, with treatment recommendations where appropriate, provided by our Lead Consultant Urologist. The results will be sent to you and your GP within 48 hours of your scan. This may include regular surveillance of your PSA levels, further testing or onward referral for a biopsy.
