I completed a degree in Cell Biology from Liverpool University in 1993. Having not decided on a future career I took the opportunity to play semi-professional rugby in Canada for a year. On my return, I attended The Manchester School of Physiotherapy and qualified in 1997. I worked for Wigan and Leigh NHS trust and Manchester United Academy part-time.
In 1999 I secured a full-time physiotherapy role at Manchester United providing clinical cover for the U18’s.
I gained a Masters in Manual Therapy from The Manchester University in 2003 and gained membership of The Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MACP).
During this time, I progressed to Rehabilitation Physiotherapist for Manchester United 1st team a role that I continue to deliver.
In 2008, I launched Physioworx, a private physiotherapy clinic based in Sale. The intention, to provide current, elite-level evidence-based treatment to members of the public.
In 2015, I was invited to tutor on the English FA Advanced Trauma Medical Management in Football and continue to do this several times a year.
